Position: Physician
Location: Federal Correctional Institution, Bastrop, TX
Schedule:
The contractor is estimated to provide 16 one (1) hour session per week. A session is defined as one hour.
Can work three (3) times a week for 40 weeks in a year or twice a week every week in a year.
Schedule will consist of eight (8) hour days, Monday – Friday, excluding Federal Holidays, on a as needed basis for 120workdays within the first year, and 120 workdays in Performance Period 1, not to exceed 240 workdays in a 24-month period.
Any time worked in a day, constitutes one (1) day.
Work hours will normally be between 7:30AM – 4:00PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution.
Contractors shall not exceed an estimated 24 hours a week.
On-Call/Call Back:
Will be required to be on-call and available to return calls to the institution within 60 minutes if requested. This on-call requirement is critical for maintaining continuity of care and ensuring the safety and security of the institution.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be certified to practice medicine in the State of Texas.
- Provide verification of credentials (education, current license/status competency, continuing medical education), and proof of malpractice insurance, as required by the Joint Commission.
- Must have knowledge of routine office related duties including working knowledge of computers, word processing programs and be able to type.
- Must possess good organizational skills, good interpersonal relationship skills and be able to work effectively with medical staff.
Patient Management:
Responsible for receiving patients and explaining procedures to alleviate undue anxiety, submitting reports and evaluations as requested. The contractor will be responsible for following directives and comply with Bureau of Prisons Health Services Manual, local institutional mandates, and the Health Services Department’s policies in the management of all patient encounters.
