Position: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist
Location: VA Medical Center San Francisco, San Francisco, CA
Hourly Pay: $65.74
Schedule:
VA Business Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 4:30PM
Work will normally, but not always, be scheduled during these hours. Lunch is 30 minutes, with one 15-minute break in the morning and one 15-minute break in the afternoon. Work hours may vary depending on clinical responsibilities, and at the discretion of the Chief of Radiology Services or designated representative. These changes must be justified by clinical necessity and approved by the Contracting Officer prior to any changes being made.
Rotating shifts as needed or required, including weekends, on-call and recognized holidays. Hours of shifts are typically:
Days: 8:00AM to 4:30PM
Split: 10:30AM to 7:00PM
Evenings: 3:30PM to 12:00AM (Midnight)
Nights: 12:00AM (Midnight) to 8:00AM

Standards of Care: The contract personnel(s)’ care shall cover the range of imaging services as would be provided in a state-of-the-art civilian medical treatment facility and the standard of care shall be of a quality, meeting or exceeding currently recognized national standards.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: All modality technologists work under the general supervision of a Radiologist or other medical officers. Examinations are frequently made additionally complex due to serious illness, injuries and mental or physical incapacity of the patient. The technologist may be required to devise non-standard positioning or equipment set- ups.
Specific Responsibilities:
Sets up MR room, assuring that sterile supplies, materials, and other required equipment are present and lay out.
Assures infection control standards are followed.
Calls scheduled in-patients for examinations when appropriate equipment is available.
