Donald L. Mooney Enterprises, LLC dba NURSES Etc STAFFING is sourcing a qualified Massage Therapist for Joint Base Andrews located in Maryland.
The presence of a strength and conditioning coach and massage therapist well versed in musculoskeletal anatomy of the neck and back in the 121st Fighter Squadrons has paid extraordinary dividends for both keeping pilots healthy to fly and aiding them in rapid recovery when they sustain an injury while flying. The intent of this contract is to continue this while expanding the capabilities of the strength and conditioning.
Massage Therapist:
Degree/Education: None requiredCertifications in addition to Basic Life Support: a certification from
an accredited Massage Therapy program
Experience: minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an MT working in elite level
athletic communities, such as with Special Operations Forces or Division I
collegiate, Olympic, or professional sports athletes.
Licensure/Registration: maintain a license or certificate with the state of Maryland
Requirements: The contractors shall provide their services to 33 current full and part time pilots, with the ability to increase to 36 based on manning authorizations.
- The ?Message Therapist? shall provide massage therapy services to all pilots.
- The ?Message Therapist? shall provide massage therapy sessions in the prehabilitation room on a regular basis, such that each pilot will receive one (1) hour of massage therapy every two (2) months. These sessions shall be with individual pilots. The ?Message Therapist? shall address specific concerns for each pilot in regards to neck and back pain, range of motion, posture, flexibility, soreness, and muscle tightness. The ?Message Therapist? shall provide common massage therapy techniques, including longitudinal gliding, kneading, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, deep transverse frictions, compression massage, cross-fiber massage, Swedish massage, and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation stretches. Every fighter pilot will have varying degrees of need with regard to massage therapy. The ?Message Therapist? will optimize scheduling to maximize the benefit to the fighter pilots involved. The ?Message Therapist? will determine the optimal time for each therapy visit and ensure as many of the fighter pilots as practical receive therapy. This will involve assessing the greatest needs and implementing a schedule strategy to best meet the needs for massage therapy focusing on neck and back pain.
- The ?Message Therapist? shall continually evaluate all pilots, beginning with an initial evaluation within ninety (90) calendar days of contract start, ongoing evaluations performed at least every six (6) months thereafter for each pilot, and more frequently for those pilots with ongoing neck or back issues.
- The ?Message Therapist? shall communicate with the Strength and Conditioning Coach as required for pilots with specific concerns to address problem areas and adapt each pilot’s massage therapy to their individual needs.
- The Massage Therapist shall launder their own sheets using the washer/dryer and soap provided.
- The ?Message Therapist? shall comply with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations, professional code of ethics, Air Force guidance, DoD guidance, and ?Message Therapist? practice standards.
- Reporting
- Data Collection and Analyses Report: quarterly program reports to the COR, who in turn reports to the 121 FS/CC. Reports will emphasize areas of concerns in the overall execution of the service deliverables.
- Individualized Fitness Plan: Quarterly reports will include the number of pilots who requested individualized fitness plans, as well as how closely the pilots adhered to their training regimens.
- Semi-Annual Staff Meeting: Both the Massage Therapist and Strength and Conditioning Coach will meet with the COR semi-annually to discuss the state of their respective programs and review the previously submitted reports.

Day flying weeks ? Tues–Fri, 7:30 AM–5:30 PM
Night flying weeks ? Tues–Thurs, 9:30 AM–7:30 PM, Fri 9:30 AM–5:30 PM
Contract: 1-year base with 4 option years
