NURSES Etc. STAFFING is now hiring an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in the Radiology Department. This is an exciting opportunity for an RN with a background in interventional radiology, ICU, or emergency medicine (EMD) to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

 Patient Care & Assessment

  • Perform triage, assessment, and monitoring of patients before, during, and after procedures
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for all patients
  • Identify and implement patient education strategies

Radiology-Specific Duties

  • Assist with specialized radiology procedures including invasive and non-invasive interventions
  • Administer IV sedation and monitor vital signs during procedures
  • Perform documentation duties (electronic & manual) for outpatient & inpatient records

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Provide clinical guidance to LPNs, LVNs, nursing assistants, and ancillary personnel
  • Participate in department meetings, cross-training initiatives, and competency assessments
  • Assist in reviewing and updating clinic operating procedures

Professional Development

  • Engage in ongoing learning and training to maintain competency
  • Stay updated on Joint Commission Standards and best practices in radiology nursing.

Qualifications

Degree/Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) OR
  • Graduate from a state-accredited professional nursing program or a program accredited by ACEN or CCNE

Experience:

  • 12 months of full-time experience within the past 24 months in interventional radiology, ICU, or EMD
  • Experience in invasive/telemetry patient monitoring, conscious sedation administration, and intensive care life support

Licensure & Certification:

  • Current, unrestricted RN license (valid in any U.S. state, D.C., Puerto Rico, Guam, or U.S. Virgin Islands)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

References:

  • Two (2) letters of recommendation from physicians or hospital administrators (at least one from a supervisor, written within the last 2 years)
