Position: Ultrasound Technician
Location: Metropolitan Detention Center, Brooklyn, NY
Duties:
The contractor will be responsible for the following:
Provide General Ultrasound/Vascular Ultrasound/Echocardiogram services – to include taking, processing, and submitting interpretation of films. The interpretation shall be conducted and performed by a board-certified radiologist and/or board-certified cardiologist, whatever is appropriate. The interpretation shall be typed and faxed or sent securely via e-mail to the MDC Brooklyn Health Service Department the next business day. Abnormal results/interpretations shall be telephoned to the Clinical Director upon receipt and interpretation of the films and/or studies.
Provide EEG services – to include performing and conducting electroencephalography and submit interpretation of electroencephalogram. The interpretation shall be performed by a board-certified neurologist. The interpretation shall be typed and faxed or sent securely via e-mail to the MDC Brooklyn Health Service Department the next business day. Abnormal results/interpretations shall be telephoned to the Clinical Director upon receipt and interpretation of the films and/or studies.
Direct entries into the inmate’s medical record by the contractor may be approved on a case-by-case basis. Otherwise, all other patient encounters will be documented using an official consultation form (SF 513).
The contractor shall have current certification that permits them to practice and to perform General Ultrasound, Vascular Ultrasound, Echocardiography, and Electroencephalography in the United States for the duration of the contract.
Shall provide documentation of certification (copy of all diplomas and/or certificates)
Minimum Requirements:
The minimum qualifications for performing as an Ultrasound Technician shall include:
1. Proof of attendance to an accredited school resulting in an appropriate degree (maintained on file with provider).
2. Licensed as a Radiology Technician with Ultrasound
3. Be in good standing in the Healthcare Community.
