Position: Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse
Location: Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Tallahassee, FL


Schedule:
Will normally provide 8 (1) hour sessions per day, 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays. If the assigned Dental Officer is working a compressed work schedule, hours will be changed accordingly. This means that some or all of the dental assistants could be working 9 to 10 hours per day or a straight eight (no duty-free lunch) schedule.

Work hours will normally be between 6:00 am - 2:30 pm or 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. These hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution.

A session will equal one (1) hour.

Description of Services:
All duties shall be performed in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted within the field of Licensed Vocational Nurse services, and compliance with all Federal and State policy and regulations. The contractor shall adhere to all standards and regulations associated with the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and American Correctional Association Foundation/Core Standards for Adult Correctional Institutions. The contractor’s performance shall be monitored by the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). The contractor must have the ability to work with an inmate population from a variety of cultural, regional, racial and ethnic backgrounds.

Education and Experience:
Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse(s) must have graduated from an accredited Vocational/Practical Nursing school or program.

Employee shall maintain current licensure as a Vocational/Practical Nurse in the State of Florida.


Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association Basic Life Support.

Must provide verification of current credentials/license, continuing education for maintaining a license, a copy of a current CPR card

Bilingual oral communication skills and experience in a clinical correctional setting are desirable.

An applicant must have at least two or more years of experience.

Documents supporting your qualifications must be submitted (resume, photocopies of certificates and CPR etc.)

Special Qualifications Required:
1) 2 years’ documented experience as an LPN/LVN.
2) Must be a graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN Program.
3) Must be CPR/AED certified.
