Position: Medical Assistant
Location: Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Tallahassee, FL


Schedule:
The contractor will normally work Monday through Friday (except Federal holidays), normally between the hours of 7:00 am – 3:30 pm or 7:30 am to 4:00 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch period.

The facility is expected to require 8 sessions per day. The Medical Assistant’s schedule shall not exceed 40 sessions per week.

A session will equal one (1) hour.

Description of Services:
All duties shall be performed in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted within the field of Medical Assistant services, and compliance with all Federal and State policy and regulations. The contractor shall adhere to all standards and regulations associated with the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) and American Correctional Association Foundation/Core Standards for Adult Correctional Institutions. The contractor’s performance shall be monitored by the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). The contractor must have the ability to work with an Inmate population from a variety of cultural, regional, racial and ethnic backgrounds.

Education and Experience:
Must have graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant school or program. The contractor employee shall maintain current certification as a Medical Assistant in the State of Florida.

The contractor must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
Documents supporting your qualifications must be submitted (resume, photocopies of certificates/license and CPR etc.)

Special Qualifications Required:
1) 2 years documented experience as a Medical Assistant.
2) Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
3) Must be CPR/AED certified.
