Position: Radiology Technician
Location: Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Hazelton, Bruceton Mills, West Virginia
Estimated Contract Start Date: October 01, 2025
Schedule:
The work schedule shall not exceed 80 sessions per week (40 sessions per contract employee) whereby one session equals one hour of service. The weekly schedule will normally consist of either five 8-hour workdays or four 10-hour workdays, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays. Work hours will normally be between 0600 and 1800, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. The number of sessions per week and the session hours may be adjusted to meet the needs of the institution.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Education: Completion of a full-time training course of at least 24 months in duration (or the equivalent) in a post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program, evidenced by a certificate or an associate degree, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or from other accrediting agencies as recognized by the Department of Education (DOE).
Certification: Must be certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R). Further, the individual must possess proof of their current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
In order to administer radiologic procedures, Public Law 97-35 requires that persons who administer radiologic procedures meet the credentialing standards in 42 CFR Part 75. Essentially, they must have successfully completed an educational program that meets or exceeds the standards described in that regulation and is accredited by an organization recognized by the Department of Education and be certified as radiographers in their field.
Preferred qualifications and experience include:
- Experience in providing healthcare in a correctional setting
- Advanced ARRT certification
- Additional professional education and certifications
