Position: American Sign Language Interpreter Services
Location: Lejuene High School (DoDEA) (Possibly the following seven schools are located on Lejeune: Bitz Elementary, Brewster Middle School, DeLalio Elementary Heroes Elementary, Johnson Primary School, Lejeune High School, and Tarawa Terrance Elementary School)
Schedule:
For the life of the contract, the interpreter shall work 7.0 hours per school day during the school year and, if required, four hours per school day for 20 days during the extend school year (summer school).
Minimum Qualifications:
Provide an interpreter who follows DoDEA’s standards of conduct listed and who meets the following eight qualifications:
- American Sign Language (ASL) certified.
- Fluent in English and in ASL which combines signing, finger spelling, and specific body language.
- Minimum of one year of experience of translating and interpreting through the use of English and American Sign Language or other work requiring the use of those sign languages.
- Minimum of one year of experience of translating and interpreting for students in school settings.
- Possess basic computer skills.
- Provides documentation to substantiate their employees’ sign experience and knowledge upon request by the COR.
- Provides all direct services onsite at the Camp Lejeune schools.
- Possesses a clean criminal background check less than one year old.
