Qualifications
Degree/Education: Graduate from a Surgical Technology Program recognized and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or completion of a formal training program provided by any branch of the Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force) for surgical technicians, surgical technologists, operating room technicians. Completion of an accredited surgical service and clinical course.
Certifications (in addition to Basic Life Support identified in paragraph: Certified Endoscope Reprocessor Certification preferred but not required.
Experience: Three years of related experience in an accredited health care hospital and minimum three years of surgical scrub experience. One year’s experience with, and can assist in, robotic procedures/surgeries.
Licensure: Certified as a Surgical Technologist (CST), Certification from the National board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or certified as a Tech- in-surgery (TS-C) from the National Center for Competency Testing or possess a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) certification as a surgical technician, surgical technologist or Operating Room Technician.
