Nurses Etc. Staffing is seeking a Medical Accounting Clerk to provide accounting and administrative support at Naval Health Clinic Hawaii in support of the Defense Health Agency (DHA).

Position Summary

The Medical Accounting Clerk will support healthcare operations by maintaining and reconciling beneficiary accounts, verifying insurance information, processing billing and payment information, and providing excellent customer service. The position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Verify Other Health Insurance (OHI) information.
  • Utilize electronic health records, medical, and billing systems.
  • Maintain, examine, verify, and reconcile accounts and accounting data.
  • Process approximately 10,000 accounts per month.
  • Prepare and analyze reports.
  • Process billing, claims, denials, resubmissions, and payment postings.
  • Work with DD2569, Medical Service Accounts (MSA), DD7s, Medical Affirmative Claims (MAC), Centralized Receivables Service accounts, error buckets, and related financial records.
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service in person, by telephone, and in writing, generally within one day.
  • Participate in training as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience using basic software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for extended periods and maintain normal ambulation.
  • No professional license or board certification required.
